In person
All classes at our Struthers training center (Placko Center), with skills lab practice every week and two clinical days in week 3.
Hybrid
Seven in-person days: the first and second Monday and Friday, the third Monday, and the two clinical days (third Wednesday and Thursday). All other days are live online.
Hybrid seats are approved by the school when you enroll.
Online
Live online classes and coursework from home. Skills check-offs and clinical days are completed in person at a partner nursing home.

Students from border states are welcome to take our online course and test at a nearby Ohio exam site.
We have graduates from North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Georgia.
Plan to work in your home state? Passing the Ohio STNA exam puts you on the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry. Most states, including Ohio's five border states, let an aide who is active and in good standing on another state's registry apply to be listed there through reciprocity. Each state sets its own steps, forms and fees, so check with your state's nurse aide registry before you enroll.
Pennsylvania Medication Administration class
We teach the Student Course of Pennsylvania's Medication Administration Training Program. It is the state-approved class for staff who are not nurses and who give medications in Pennsylvania community settings, such as group homes, personal care homes and adult day programs.
The class is taught through Help Me Care EDU. Help Me Rise Staffing staffs the class.
This class is for work in Pennsylvania only. It is not an Ohio credential.

Common questions
How long is the course?
14 training days over three weeks, with more than 77 hours of classroom, skills lab and clinical training.
How much does it cost?
Your cost depends on how you pay: tuition assistance (such as OhioMeansJobs or county JFS), paying out of pocket, or an employer or sponsor. Apply and we will walk you through pricing, funding and every cost before you start.

Can I get help paying for the course?
Yes, many students qualify for funding through OhioMeansJobs or county Job and Family Services. Apply with us and tell us you want funding help, and we will guide you through the steps.
What do I need to apply?
- Your completed application
- Photo ID
- Social Security card
- High school transcript (not the diploma)
- Two-step TB test
- Background check
No physical is required. We help you set up the TB test and background check.
Please note: Ohio law does not allow people with certain criminal convictions, including certain felonies and crimes against people, to work in direct care. If you have one of these convictions, we cannot accept you into the program. Read the official Ohio list of disqualifying offenses (Ohio Administrative Code 3701-13-05). Not sure? Is the state exam the same as Help Me Care EDU?
No. The Ohio STNA state exam is separate from Help Me Care EDU. You schedule your exam through your own TMU testing account. Questions about our school, classes or exam scheduling: info@helpmecareedu.com.
I don't live near Struthers. Can I still enroll?
Yes. We serve students in all 88 Ohio counties through hybrid and online classes. Clinical days are completed in person at a partner nursing home.
I live in another state. Can I enroll?
Students from border states are welcome to take our online course and test at a nearby Ohio exam site. Passing puts you on the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry. To work in your home state, check with your state's nurse aide registry about reciprocity. Learn more.
Do you help graduates find jobs?
Yes. We offer job placement for eligible graduates.
What is the difference between hybrid and online?
Hybrid students attend seven in-person days (including the two clinical days) and join the rest live online. Online students take classes from home and complete skills check-offs and clinical days in person at a partner facility.
What happens after I finish?
You will be ready for the Ohio STNA exam (written and skills), which you schedule through your TMU testing account. Once you pass, you are placed on the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry.
